Water Technician II:  (Grade 60 - salary range $24,672 - $37,365, depending on qualifications & experience)  Perquimans County has an opening for a Water Technician II in its Water System.  Qualifications include but not limited to:  repair water lines; install water meters; locate valves and water mains, and operating all aspects of the water system including the operation and maintenance of water treatment plants as well as lab work including taking water samples with good record keeping.  Applicant should be able to lift 70 lbs. and should have or be able to obtain in three years the NC Water Operator Certifications along with having a North Carolina driver's license.  Advance certification, such as B-Well and B-Distribution, are desirable.  Applicant will be expected to work holidays and weekends on a rotation basis plus some on call duty.  See Job Description below for further information.  Applicants may apply through Perquimans County Manager's Office (426-8484).  Closing date for receipt of applications is October 10, 2014. Emergency Services Director:  (Grade 72 - salary range $41,841 - $63,362, depending on qualifications & experience)  Perquimans County has an opening for an Emergency Services Director.  This employee will provide overall supervision of the Emergency Medical Services and Emergency Management.  Job requirements:  (1) Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field, and 5 to 10 years of experience in emergency services, and/or emergency management, including administrative and program planning; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities; (2) Valid North Carolina driver's license; (3) Hold and maintain a credential with the State of North Carolina Office of Medical Services as an Emergency Medical Technician; (4) Ability to lift and move up to 200 lbs. with assistance; and (5) minimum of 5 years experience as an EMT.  See Job Description below for further information.  Closing date for receipt of applications is October 20, 2014.
