Director of Elections: (Grade 64 - $29,421.00 minimum) Perquimans County has an opening for a Director of Elections. This position requires the ability to supervise and train employees, the ability to interpret and apply elections laws, ability to establish and maintain a good relationship with other county departments, precinct officials, media and general public. Director attends State, District and county meetings, prepares election ballots, organizes, arranges and distributes all material and delivers all voting equipment with assistance prior to each election, request use of buildings as needed for meetings and polling places for elections, prepares budget and monitors expenditures, maintains voter registration records, issues absentee ballots, performs all functions to maintain the State computer systems including, equipment upgrades, training classes and data entry. Maintains and runs all daily operations of an election office. Qualifications include: graduation from High School, experience in clerical work, including computer skills, ability to use general office equipment, ability to work after normal business hours when necessary and the ability to complete certification classes and obtain State Board of Elections Certification.
