Current Employment Opportunities

EMS: Perquimans County has multiple openings for Part-time EMT, AEMT & Paramedic positions as well as 3 Full-time Paramedics in its Emergency Medical Services Division. Job requirements: (1) successful completion of an approved appropriate North Carolina State Emergency Medical Technician training program and certification as EMT, AEMT or Paramedic; and maintain level of certification; (2) one year of field experience at the appropriate certification level preferred. (3) able to pass an oral board with the system's medical director to operate at the appropriate level. (4) valid North Carolina driver’s license. (5) ability to lift and move up to 200 pounds with assistance. (6) High School graduate or equivalent. (7) Paramedics must also have and maintain ACLS,    PALS or PEPP and PHTLS or ITLS. Water Plant Operator: (Grade 64 – salary range $30,304-$45,893 DOQ) Perquimans County has an opening for a Water Plant Operator in its Water System.  Qualifications include:  performs responsible skilled work operating water treatment plants and does related work as required.  Must have a Class C-Well Water Treatment Plant Operator’s certificate issued by the State of North Carolina and the ability to obtain a Class B-Well Water Treatment Plant Operator's certification and a Physical/Chemical 1 Certification within two years.  Applicants may apply through the Perquimans County Manager’s Office (426-8484) or on County’s website at www.perquimanscountync.gov.  The job opening will remain open until the position is filled.
