Perquimans County Recreation Facilities

Hours of Operation: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

  • Perquimans County Community Center (located on Granby Street, Hertford)
  • Walking trail around the center on Granby Street with a .9 mile loop.
  • Perquimans County Tennis Courts/Basketball Court (located on Grubb Street, Hertford)
  • Perquimans County Athletic Fields (located on Wiggins Road, Winfall)
  • Perquimans County Basketball Court (located on King Street, Hertford)
  • Camping Platforms (Bear Garden, Cypress Woods, Mill Creek)

Adult Activities

Aerobic Kickboxing Class

Aerobic kickboxing classes will be offered on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 6:00 pm-7:15 p.m. Please bring an exercise mat and water. Cost per class is $2.50. Class is currently meeting at Hertford Grammar School in the multi-purpose room (603 Dobbs Street).  Class will move back to the recreation department on Tuesday, May 21, 2013.  For more information contact the Perquimans County Recreation Department at 426-5695.

ZUMBA

ZUMBA is a Latin-music based cardio workout that will burn lots of calories! Monday class is from 6-7 pm, cost is $5.00 per class. Cynthia Elliott, a certified instructor will lead you through this fun workout to help reduce stress, burn fat, build endurance and tone muscles. Bring water, a small towel and wear comfortable shoes. If you have any questions please call the recreation department 426-5695.

Pilates

Pilates is a method of body conditioning that is a system of stretching and strengthing exercises developed over 90 years ago by Joseph Pilate. It strengthens and tones muscles, improves posture, provides flexibility and balance, unites body and mind , and creates a more streamlined shape. Class is Monday and Friday mornings from 9-10 am. Please bring a mat.

Yoga

Benefits include... reduced stress, improved balance, concentration, flexibility and strength. Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:00 am- 10:15 am. Cost per class is $5.00. Wear comfortable clothing; bring a large towel or blanket and your own mat (if you have one). Youth Activities

Registration forms for youth sports may be printed and returned to the recreation department or completed at the recreation department. If printing your form please also print and sign the parent code of conduct.  If you have any questions please call 426-5695.

British Soccer Camp:

July 22nd through 26th at the Perquimans County Recreation Department.  Ages 4-6 mini soccer 9:00am-10:30am, $96;  Ages 7-9 half day 9:00am-12:00pm, $116; Ages 10-13 half day 5:30pm-8:30pm, $116; Ages 14-18 half day 5:30pm-8:30pm, $116.  To register or for more information visit www.challengersports.com.
