NC Cooperative Extension is seeking an Agriculture Technician:

Perquimans County is looking for a Part-Time Tourism Director:

The Tourism Director is responsible for the successful execution of the policies and programs of the Perquimans County Tourism Development Authority according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors. This position is Part-Time requiring 25 hours per week. Degree in related field required - preferred travel & tourism, hospitality, and/or marketing.

Perquimans County Emergency Services has openings for Part-Time AEMTs and Paramedics:

We pride ourselves on community outreach by developing solid partnerships with area agencies. We invest in the community through our Post Overdose Response Team, expansion of our Mobile Integrated Health program, and Water Rescue Team, but we invest in our people too. Since becoming a Paramedic level system in 2018, we have upgraded equipment to reduce injury and increase provider safety. We support provider growth by offering multiple training opportunities each month and participating in various pilot programs and trials. Part-time staff submit availability for 12 and/or 24-hour shifts. We hope you will consider growing with us!

Perquimans County Water Department is seeking a Water Technician and Clerk:

Water System Technician I: Grade 58 (Salary Range - $29,756 - $45,066)

The Perquimans County Water System is accepting applications until the position is filled, for the Full Time position of Water System Technician I.  An employee in this class performs operational, construction and maintenance duties designed to operate water production and distribution systems.  Work includes monitoring daily operations of systems; starting and stopping pumps and plants; operation of heavy equipment; maintenance and repair of water lines; maintenance and repair of pumps; well operation and maintenance; installation of new lines, meters and hydrants; meter reading; and related activities.  Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and hearing.  Must be able to perform medium work exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally; and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently; and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  Graduation from high school and some experience in the operation and maintenance of a well water production and/or distribution system; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Employee must possess or be able to obtain a grade C distribution system certification within twelve months; additional certifications may be required. Perquimans County Department of Social Services has openings for the following positions:

Social Work Supervisor III:  Grade 73 (Salary Range - $57,588 - $87,211)

Supervision of a staff of Social Workers who provide direct services to clients in the areas of Child Welfare, Adult Services, and Day Care.  Work supervised is predominately at the level of Social Worker I A& T, Social Worker III and Social Worker II and requires providing considerable guidance to staff in case consultation.  Employee assigns cases to subordinates, coordinates work flow operations, and supervises staff through case review and consultation.  Employees are responsible for staff training, resolving problems and ensuring quality services are provided. Employees' responsibilities may range from a single sub-unit in an agency or institution to multiple service programs in a small agency and may carry a small caseload. Employees may provide input to higher level management on administrative, personnel, and budget issues. Employees report to a higher level supervisor or administrator. Employees may be called upon in times of disaster, either natural or manmade, to staff an evacuation shelter or handle other assigned duties.  This is a requirement of the position and failure to serve may result in adverse action.  Master’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience; or a bachelor’s degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a master’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of directly related experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of directly related experience; or a bachelor’s degree from an appropriately accredited institution and five years of directly related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  For more information, see Social Work Supervisor III Recruitment Announcement below.

 

Social Worker IA&T:  Grade 70 (Salary Range - $50,464 - $76,421)

The primary purpose of this position is to ensure that abused and neglected children in their own homes receive a minimum sufficient level of safety and care and/or removed from situations where that is not happening. Employees intervene actively in the environment on the client’s behalf as a provider of resources, locator of resources, interpreter of client’s need, mediator on client’s behalf, advocate for client and modifier of the environment. Employees act as a change agent, utilizing a problem-solving approach based on objective diagnostic study of the client in interaction with his/her environment. This is an advanced, professional level casework position providing protective, investigative, counseling and case management services for children who are at risk of neglect and/or abuse. Work involves investigation of alleged neglect and abuse, substantiation of the alleged neglect or abuse as prescribed by federal and state guidelines, providing expert testimony in court hearings, and following up with case management services for clients. Employees analyze situations and determine appropriate courses of action immediately or in short time spans and often under very stressful conditions. Employees may provide treatment to clients of any age and any developmental, mental, medical, substance abuse, financial or family program. Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and one year of social work experience; Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative; Master’s degree in counseling or human services field and two years of directly-related experience; Bachelor in Social Work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative and one year of directly-related experience; Bachelor in Social Work from an accredited school of social work and two years of social work or counseling experience; Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and three years of directly-related experience; Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and four years of directly-related experience.

 

Social Worker III (Foster Care):  Grade 69 (Salary Range - $48,290 - $73,132)

This employee will primarily work with Foster Care and Adoption Services. This employee will receive referrals; explain services available and process intake reports to completion. This employee will also monitor all services provided under his/her direction to see that Federal/State policies are followed. Work in this class involves providing intensive social work services in serious and complicated cases which require the flexible use of a wide range of social work skills and intervention techniques. Services are provided in a variety of settings including local human services agencies, public health departments, correctional facilities, teaching hospitals, medical schools, juvenile training centers, and state institutions. Work will be in Child Protective Services and may involve investigation of alleged neglect or abuse and/or dependency; providing in-depth assessment of family dynamics and needs, assessment, intervention and treatment of patients and or families with acute to severe medical and/or emotional disorders and mental illnesses; serving as expert witness at court hearings; or advanced social work intervention, instruction, and research in a teaching hospital. Work is distinguished from the Social Worker II classification by greater involvement in sensitive and traumatic situations such as custody and removal of clients from homes, catastrophic and terminal illness, and/or family dysfunction. Employees supervise and train lower-level social workers, students, and interns. Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work; Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only); Bachelor's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work and one year directly related experience; Master's degree in a human services field and one year of directly related experience; Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and two years directly related experience; Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of directly related experience.

 

Income Maintenance Caseworker II:  Grade 63 (Salary Range - $37,081 - $56,158)

Employees in this class are responsible for the total process of determining/redetermining applicant/client eligibility in a County Department of Social Services. Work at this level includes such tasks as the interviewing of clients to obtain required information, completing initial applications, verifying the information obtained, determining eligibility or completing scheduled program reviews. Employees must explain program(s) requirements and options and advise or refer clients to other program services as appropriate. Employees usually report to an Income Maintenance Supervisor. The position will require an individual to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00. The rate of pay for an Income Maintenance Caseworker II starts at $37,081 per year. If the individual is not qualified as an Income Maintenance Caseworker II, the position occupied will be an Income Maintenance Caseworker I with a starting salary of $35,654 per year. At the end of one year, the Income Maintenance Caseworker I will be promoted to an Income Maintenance Caseworker II.
